I am an atheist and while I don’t begrudge people their decision to believe in something spiritual, I don’t believe organized religion is a good thing for humanity. I thought about a future where churches are literally at war against each other for converts. They fight in the streets with military-grade weapons, cities partitioned not into gang-land or cultural areas, but into church-controlled sections. The story is told in a combination of narrative formats: interviews, third-person, second-person, and first-person.
